Use DoorDash? Earn up to 15% cash back with Paymi (and earn your credit card points/miles/cashback)
DoorDash appears to have switched allegiance from RBC to CIBC as users of the CIBC backed Paymi can now earn cash back with DoorDash. The cash back app is offering up to 15% cash back when using any linked credit card for your DoorDash purchases. This means you can earn something like your 5x points on the American Express Cobalt Card (for the full purchase amount) in addition to getting the up to 15% cash back.
I am happy this offer has come to market as I have missed earning cash back in addition to the 5x points on my Cobalt Card for DoorDash purchases. Up until a few months ago the go to option for DoorDash was Avion Select+Cobalt (or other points earning machine cards)

Small devaluation to Cathay Pacific long haul business class awards out of Canada
Cathay Pacific is adjusting the number of Asia Miles required for many of their flight awards in the Cathay program. There are both increases and decreases happening as of April 15, 2025. Some short haul economy class flights within Asia are coming down in mileage requirements while some medium to long haul business class awards are being increased. It is those increases that affects Canadian travellers:
As you can see it is only a slight increase in the miles required per direction in business class. Vancouver goes from 84,000 Asia Miles to 88,000 while Toronto goes to 115,000 miles from 110,000.
There are no changes to the economy class award tickets of 27,000 miles one way from Vancouver and 38,000 from Toronto.

GHA DISCOVERY are offering a 15% discount for buying their DISCOVERY D$ and this represents a good way to get a further discount on stays at their 850+ hotels in 100 countries. This includes four Pan Pacific locations right here in Canada.
As DISCOVERY D$ are worth US$1 and you are buying them for only 85 cents a piece, the question is: why wouldn’t you buy them if you plan to stay at any of their hotels? This is essentially giving you a 15% discount on whatever portion of your stay you use the D$ to pay for. You can book any rates with them (so if they have a sale you can book that!) and then apply the D$ towards your hotel bill at check out.
The only catch to this offer? The DISCOVERY D$ are only valid for two years – so make sure you can use them in that time frame before buying them.
