Marriott adding three more hotels in Canada this year

Early in the year we posted our annual new hotel openings for 2025 but like in any industry, what is reported at that time is never set in stone as the announcement of new hotels can happen at anytime. At the time we stated 8 new Marriott Hotels were set to open this year and that quickly grew to 10 and now it’s even more.

We do keep an eye on the new hotel opening throughout the year and have found that there will be at least three more Marriott Hotels set to open in 2025 in addition to the 10 we had n our Marriott’s New Hotel Openings in Canada for 2025 (That article has been updated with these as well)

Yet another AIR MILES Flash Offer for Shell to earn 50 more miles (Can be stacked with so many other offers)

 

Yesterday we brought you details of the return of the AIR MILES bonus at Shell where you can earn up to 100 bonus miles on June 27. Now they have yet another Flash Offer for Shell that will be available which you can stack together or use separately as this new Flash offer is good from June 27 to July 1st.

The offer is 50 bonus Miles when you fuel up with 20L of fuel AND spend #$5 or more in-store on a Car Wash. 50 miles are worth roughly $5 so if you limit your spend $5 in store (before taxes) you’ll breakeven. Of course if you need to buy items or a car wash by all means do so as this works out to a $5 rebate.

If you add this offer on top of all the others, as they can all be combined, you can get a decent amount of miles in one fell swoop.

Here’s how I plan to do the stack and rack attack on my Shell purchase on June 27:

  1. Flash Offer to earn up to 100 miles (Earn 1 bonus mile per $1 spent) – I’ll probably fill 75-80 litres plus spend the $5 in store for a total of 80-85 bonus miles
  2. Monthly multiple Shell purchases bonus – This next fuel up will my fourth of the month which will get 40 bonus miles (I already hit the first 40 miles for 3 purchases)
  3. I should earn 6 miles on the actual fuel purchase (3 base miles + 3 more for being a Shell Go+ member)
  4. Flash Offer to earn 50 miles on 20L+$5 purchase – I’ll easily break the 20L limit and see what will be on special in the store to spend the $5 on that I know I will use (Who knows those items might have bonuses too!)
  5. I’ll use my Safeway gas coupon of 7 cents off per litre!
  6. I’ll save 3 cents per litre with my CAA card
  7. Finally I’ll pay for the purchase with my Platinum Card from American Express as right now I have the Amex Offers offer of spend $60 at Shell and get a $5 statement credit registered to that card.

So on this one fuel up I should net at least ~175 miles, save 10 cents per litre and get $5 back. Not bad! The only thing I can’t do is redeem cash miles if I choose to use the Safeway coupon. If you choose to redeem cash miles remember that until June 27 you get 20% miles back for doing so.
