A new Starbucks menu item makes for a great reward redemption

I believe we may have a new item on the Starbucks menu that takes the crown for having the best redemption value. The recently added Maple Mini Pancakes (8 piece) qualify as a 100 Star redemption item and those pancakes run $4.25+tax (at the Starbucks I frequent)

That’s a 4.25 cents per Star value (pre-tax) and if you are earning them at 2 Stars per dollar (paying with your loaded Starbucks card) you have an 8.5% return on spending. I can’t recall if we have ever seen a $4+ item be offered at the 100 point level, the closest I’ve seen lately has been $3.95 but of course pricing does vary by region and location.

Overall in the program the 100 Star redemptions for items $3.50 or higher tend to be the best redemption options in the program along with some of the 25 Star drink customizations.
