Etihad Airways upgrading Toronto flights to the Airbus A380 (with The Residence!)
As of June 24 Etihad Airways will be upgrading their daily Toronto-Abu Dhabi flight to the Airbus A380. This marks the first time that Etihad’s famed three-room suite in the sky, The Residence wil be offered on this route. In addition to The Residence the A380 features First, Business and Economy Class.
“To celebrate the launch of the A380, Etihad is launching a sale from today until 5 March, with special themed one-way fares to Abu Dhabi in Economy starting at CAD $ 880, in Business Class from CAD $ 2,380, and in First Class from CAD $ 8,380, and return fares from CAD $ 1,380 in Economy, CAD $ 3,380 in Business Class and CAD $ 10,380 in First Class for travel between 24 June and 8 December 2025.”

Etihad’s premium cabins and The Residence are sought after redemptions for the points & miles community and with this larger aircraft set to ply this route, hopefully we’ll have better luck to getting those seats for flights out of our country.
There are wide ranging options for using points and miles on Etihad flights from Etihad’s own Guest program (A transfer partner from American Express Membership Rewards), Air Canada Aeroplan points (Returns March 25) or Air France KLM Flying Blue Miles (Both are also Membership Rewards transfer partners) to American AAdvantage Miles (RBC Avion Rewards transfer partner) and more.

Air Tahiti Nui Club Tiare Elite Status Match (Should work for Air Canada and WestJet elites)
Another status match offer to let you know about that maybe, just maybe, a couple of you will be able to make use of! Air Tahiti Nui is celebrating their new partnership with Air Raratonga with an elite status match offer for elite members of any major airline that flies between different continents. This means both Air Canada and WestJet Elites should be able to match to get Silver or Gold status in Air Tahiti Nui’s Club Tiare program. Simply join Club Tiare and fill out their status match request form by March 7, 2025
