Enhancements & devaluations coming to My McDonald’s Rewards
McDonald’s Canada sent out an email today My McDonald’s Rewards members with a notification of some changes to some of the rewards. Just as we saw with DQ Rewards a few months back McDonald’s is adding more reward options but also increasing the amount points required for some of the more popular existing rewards while decreasing some others. These changes will take place on September 16, 2025.
Personally, I’m sad as one of my favourite and most used redemptions, a large fries for only 4,000 points (Which was the 3rd best redepmtion option in the program) is taking a hit!
Here are the items being added to the rewards catalog (it’s always good to have more options!):
| Small or medium Cappuccino | 2,000 points |
| Large Cappuccino | 4,000 points |
| Chicken Snack Wrap® | 6,000 points |
| Filet-O-Fish® sandwich | 10,000 points |
| Filet-O-Fish Extra Value Meal | 14,000 points |
And here are the current reward items that will be seeing changes in points requirements
| Small or medium Latte | 2,000 points (Large remains at 4,000 points) |
| Large Premium Roast Coffee, Tea or Iced Coffee | 4,000 points (Small or medium remain at 2,000 points) |
| Large Fries | 6,000 points (Small or medium remain at 4,000 points) |
The good news is that a Small or Medium Latte will now cost less points! Half of what it is currently!
However it is bad news for the other items that are changing – these must be the most popular items! We have Large Premium Roast Coffee, Tea or Iced Coffee (And I’m assuming extra large as well) doubling in the number of points required and large fries are increasing by 50%. An extra large tea was the 4th best redemption option in the program and I’m really suprised to see them increasing the points cost for large premium roast coffee seeing as how last year they dropped the cash prices on all their coffees and an extra large is only $1.75 before tax (Unless this is an indication of them raising the coffee prices soon!)

Earn 25,000 Be Well points for linking your RBC card
Somehow I missed this offer that has been around since June but right now until August 31 you can earn 25,000 Be Well points (Rexall’s loyalty program) when you link an eligible RBC card (Credit or Debit) to your Be Well account and complete a purchase with that card at Rexall.
Those 25,000 points are worth $10 towards a future purchase at Rexall and don’t forget to load all your Be Well offers before shopping to earn even more points.
