Here’s our next update to the American Express Cobalt Card Confirmed Multiplier Locations with 46 new locations being added today from Canada and the U.S.. This is our first update to multipliers list after the (sad) changes to outside of Canada locations although some U.S. locations still appear to be earning 2x points!
Thanks to the RWRDS Canada community for providing details on thousands of locations where you can use the American Express Cobalt Card to earn up to 5x points.
Even though we focus on the Cobalt Card for this feature it is also a good resource to see where Amex cards in general are accepted if you have one of their many other cards. For example, the vet we use is 1x point with Cobalt so I use my Marriott Bonvoy card there to earn 2x points.
Question for our readers! Do we keep updating locations outside of Canada?
I would also like to hear some feedback from all of our community if you think it is still valuable to keep updating the U.S. and the Rest of the World tables even though most locations will only be 1x points?
If enough people tell me they will still reference it just to see Amex acceptance then we can keep them going.
I know the primary market of the U.S. sees Amex acceptance that is pretty much 100% of Visa and Mastercard but it is the other countries around the world where the chart could continue to be beneficial. Let me know in the comments below!

We have created a new Google Sheets spreadsheet for our community to use to contribute the multipliers. It should make the submission process easier for both you and me! You can find the spreadsheet here. (If you don’t want your name tracked in the changes by Google Sheets simply log out of your Google account before submitting, it will just show up as anonymous!)
