Here’s our next update to our American Express Cobalt Card Confirmed Multiplier Locations list with 25 new locations being added today from across Canada
A big thank you to the RWRDS Canada community for providing details on thousands of locations where you can use the American Express Cobalt Card to earn up to 5x points.
Even though we focus on the Cobalt Card for this feature it is also a good resource to see where Amex cards in general are accepted if you have one of their many other cards. For example, the vet we use is 1x point with Cobalt so I use my Marriott Bonvoy card there to earn 2x points.

How to submit your multiplier locations
We have created a new Google Sheets spreadsheet for our community to use to contribute the multipliers. It should make the submission process easier for both you and me! You can find the spreadsheet here. (If you don’t want your name tracked in the changes by Google Sheets simply log out of your Google account before submitting, it will just show up as anonymous!)
We are no longer updating locations outside of Canada
Based on feedback from the community we are no longer updating the lists for outside of Canada as the card no longer earns its multipliers on foreign purchases.

American Express Cobalt® Card
- In your first year as a new Cobalt Cardmember, you can earn 1,250 Membership Rewards® points for each monthly billing period in which you spend $750 in net purchases on your Card. This could add up to 15,000 points in a year.

- Earn 1x point for every $1 in Card purchases everywhere else
- Enjoy access to hotel bookings, and up to $100 USD hotel credit to use on amenities when charged to the room for a stay of 2 or more consecutive nights through The Hotel Collection from American Express Travel
- Transfer points 1:1 to several frequent flyer and other loyalty programs
- Cobalt Cardmembers receive regular Perks such as bonus reward offers and access to great events
- Access Front Of The Line® Presale & Reserved Tickets to some of your favourite concerts and theatre performances and special offers and events curated for Cardmembers with American Express® Experiences
