Virgin Atlantic Flying Club has a new buy points offer in place offers up to a 70% extra when buying Virgin points. This higher offer will be available until October 12, 2025.
The up to 70% bonus offer:

Bonuses awarded as follows:
- < 5K: No Bonus
- 5K – 24K: 20% Bonus
- 25K – 69K: 40% Bonus
- 70K – 124K: 60% Bonus
- 125K – 200K: 70% Bonus
Note: To be able to buy Virgin Points you must have at least one prior eligible earning or redeeming transaction in your Flying Club account.
Does it make sense to buy Virgin Points?
Just like any other buy miles and points bonuses, these bonus offers can make sense if your redemption value per point is higher than what you pay for the points when buying them.
Here’s an example of Toronto to London in Economy Class where it could make sense to buy the points – even with the 20% bonus you would get if you only bought 10,000 points:
From the example above you can see that you can redeem 12,000 points and pay $478.83 for this flight that would cost $2,109 if you paid cash.
To buy 12,000 points (10,000 plus 20%) you would be paying in the range of 3.15 to 3.33 cents (C$) per point including GST/HST. Normally buying point in any program at that high of CPP would be a no go but the fact that Virgin Atlantic Flying Club has saver rewards at only 6,000 points one way it is an anomaly this regard.
The 12,000 points would cost you roughly C$400 add that to reward ticket fees of $478.83 and you have a total outlay of $878.83. That’s a lot better than the $2,109 being charged! Granted this is just a straight line example that doesn’t take into account what competitors are charging cash wish for the same flights. Always check all the available options that are available.
