VIA Rail is celebrating the first year of their revamped Preference program with a double points on all eligible purchases promotion.

Preference members simply need to register for the promotion in the My Offers section of their account online and then book travel in any class of service on VIA Rail. The promotion is available for all eligible travel completed by December 10, 2024.

The doubling of points will be applied to eligible base points earning on tickets as well as any other products or services that earn points such as extra bags and fees for travelling with a pet. The bonus is not applied to bonuses offered on select fares. What is an unknown is whether the promotion includes the doubling of the increased earn rates that elite status members receive.

 

Win 25,000 points

 

In addition to the double points offer, VIA Rail has also launched a contest as part of their 1st anniversary where members who register for the contest will be entered to win a grand prize of 25,000 Preference Points or one of ten prizes of 1,500 points.
