In celebration of the new WestJet Rewards program where one of the biggest changes was a move from dollar to points, the airline is now offering a first flight bonus to new members!
Any one who joins the program on or after April 30 will receive 500 bonus points when they complete their first flight on an eligible fare. An eligible fare is any one that earns WestJet points as such UltraBasic fares, contracted fares, and tour operator fares will not qualify for this offer. Those 500 points are worth up to $5 in rewards.
At the time of posting this the offer is very open ended – it has no expiry date nor requirement to fly within so many days after joining like we see with many first flight offers from other airlines. (This offer reminds me of Porter’s first flight bonus)
