Why you might want to earn Mileage Plan miles on your Coast stays:
The partnership between Coast Hotels and Alaska Airlines will become even more noteworthy later this year once the Alaska Airlines-Porter Airlines partnership is expanded to being able to redeem Mileage Plan miles on Porter flights! This could be a good time to start preparing for that expanded partnership by racking up the miles in whichever way you can – including stays with Coast Hotels.
Paying for your Coast Hotels stays:
Coast Hotels Coast Rewards nor Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan have co-brand credit cards that can earn points or miles for these stays so your best bet is to use a credit card with a travel accelerator.
You could choose to pay with the Marriott Bonvoy American Express to earn 2 points per dollar and convert those to Mileage Plan. If you don’t have the Marriott card if you apply for it right now you can earn 5 points per dollar on travel purchases in your first 6 months! Those 5 points per dollar work out to an equivalent of 1.67 to 2.08 Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles per dollar spent.
Otherwise you could always choose to use a card like the American Express Cobalt Card which earns 2 points per dollar on travel or the BMO AscendTM World Elite®* Mastercard®* which earns 5 points per dollar on travel but in actuality is the equivalent of 3.33% return.
