Just in time for booking those winter getaways, Air Canada Vacations have increased their Aeroplan bonus points offer for booking select packages around the world to up to 20,000 points!
First launched in October 2023, these bonuses were set to expire at the end of September 2024 then were extended to December 31, 2025 and now have updated and extended further to December 31, 2026.
The new up to 20,000 bonus Aeroplan points offers for select Air Canada Vacations packages:
- Caribbean, Mexico and the U.S.: up to 20,000 points (min. 7 nights) – previously was 12,000 points.
- Las Vegas: up to 12,000 points (min. 4 nights) – previously was 4,000 bonus points
- Spain, Ireland and Venice tour packages: 4,000 bonus points until Dec 31 and then:
– Earn 4,000 extra points per member on tour packages to: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland. Valid for travel Jan 1 – Dec 31, 26
– Earn 1,000 extra points per member on tour packages to: England, France, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Scotland. Valid for travel Jan 1 – Dec 31, 26 - London, Lisbon, Barcelona and Rome flight+hotel packages: Up to 8,000 bonus points (min. 7 nights) – previously was 4,000 bonus points with min. 4 nights.
- NEW! Select Flight & Hotel packages to Whistler, Kamloops, Calgary and St. John’s: Up to 2,000 bonus points (min. 4 nights)
- Select tour packages to Asia, Australia, Dubai, Morocco, India, South America, New Zealand and more: 4,000 bonus points – no change

The bonus points listed above are awarded above base earn and any additional ACV bonus points offers that may be available like the 15,000 points offer for select Bahamas packages that we just added to our Aeroplan bonus points offers this morning!
Speaking of base earn rates, the amount of points earned on the flight portion of the packages will be moving to a flat rate as of January 1, 2026. This rates also get multiplied by your elite status multiplier of 2x to 6x points. For example, if you have Super Elite Status and booked a business class package to Asia, Australia or New Zealand you would 30,000 Aeroplan points.
Paying for AC Vacations packages
When it comes to paying for Air Canada Vacations packages your best bet to earning the most points is to use any of the Air Canada Aeroplan co-brand credit cards. These include the following as the top points earners:
- American Express Aeroplan Reserve Card – 3 points per dollar spent on Air Canada flights
- TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege Card – 2 points per dollar spent on Air Canada flights
- American Express Aeroplan Card – 2 points per dollar spent on Air Canada flights.
Or you can choose to go with a proprietary credit card rewards option like:
- Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite Privilege Card – 3 points per dollar spend on all travel (3% return)
- BMO Ascend World Elite Mastercard – 5 points per dollar spent on all travel (3.33% return)
Wrapping it up
Air Canada Vacations will be awarding more Aeropan points on select packages until the end of 2026. Members will now be able to earn up to 20,000 more points on flight+hotel or tour packages above standard earn rates and other bonuses. Part of me thinks the increase in bonus points was to counter the new flat earn rates on the flight portion of the packages even though for some these new flat earn rates may actually earn them more than would be currently earned on those flights!
