Air Canada Aeroplan’s latest buy points promotion provides members with the opportunity to receive up to a 30% discount when buying points by May 14, 2025.
The up to 30% discount offer:
Receive up to a 30% discount when you buy 10,000 or more Aeroplan points. Offer valid to May 14, 25. Click here to buy points.
- Receive a 15% discount on Aeroplan points when a minimum of 10,000 Eligible Aeroplan points and up to a maximum of 19,000 Eligible Aeroplan points are bought and/or gifted (no discount Aeroplan points will be issued if less than 10,000 Aeroplan points are bought and/or gifted).
- Receive a 20% discount on Aeroplan points when a minimum of 20,000 Eligible Aeroplan points and up to a maximum of 75,000 Eligible Aeroplan points are bought and/or gifted.
- Receive a 25% discount on Aeroplan points when a minimum of 80,000 Eligible Aeroplan points and up to a maximum of 95,000 Eligible Aeroplan points are bought and/or gifted.
- Receive a 30% discount on Aeroplan points when more 100,000 Eligible Aeroplan points or more are bought and/or gifted
Does it make sense to buy points?
When you buy points with a 30% bonus your cost on each point is 2.45 cents (C$) each before taxes (2.57-2.82 cents with taxes, depending on which province you live in).
We value Aeroplan points at a minimum of 1.5 cents each but the program does provide the ability to get much more than that. If you find the right award flights at the right time you can easily redeem points with values well over 2 or 3 cents per point.

Wrapping it up
The up to 30% discount for buying Air Canada Aeroplan points isn’t as good as the last 80% offer and falls quite short of some of the other past offers where we have seen 100% or higher bonuses. If you have an immediate redemption to use these points on where you will get more than 3 cents per point in value then by all means buy the points to give yourself a discount on you travels but otherwise wait until the next promotion.
