BMO Air Miles Cards duo

[OFFER EXPIRED] BMO AIR MILES Mastercards offering up to 15,000 bonus miles (Biggest ever bonuses!)

The following offers are no longer available.

If the offers we have seen over the past month from AIR MILES are any indication of the direction the program is heading under their new ownership – then watch out! The program has been doling out some very lucrative bonuses when earning miles with their partners, online shopping and their card linked offers. Now, we have the biggest ever bonuses ever seen to date on BMO’s consumer and business AIR MILES Cards. These offers are available until Oct 31, 2023.

BMO AIR MILES World Elite Mastercard
Up to 8,000 bonus AIR MILES

The premium AIR MILES card offering from BMO sees a huge jump in its bonus offer to 8,000 miles from the typical 2,000 to 3,000 miles. On top of this the card still features a first year annual fee waiver so you don’t have to pay the $120 annual fee in the first year.

Earning the entire bonus will take 12 months and a considerable amount of spend compared to the standard offer. Here’s how the 8,000 AIR MILES are earned:

  • 3,000 AIR MILES when you spend $3,000 within the first 3 months
  • 2,500 AIR MILES when you spend $15,000 within the first 6 months
  • 2,500 AIR MILES when you’ve spent $30,000 cumulative in your first 12 months

As you can see it will take $30,000 in spending over the course of a year to be able to earn the entire bonus. That works out to $2,500 per month in spending. That’s doable for many, especially considering the income requirement of $80,000 personal or $150,000 household for the card but that can also mean much less spending or not even putting any spending on any other credit cards you may have.

If you do earn the entire bonus, 8,000 AIR MILES works out to over $842 in value via the Cash Miles option. The true value will end up being $722 as you will have to subtract the 2nd year annual fee from that total unless you manage to get it waived again or have a BMO bank account that covers the annual fee.

BMO AIR MILES Mastercard
Up to 2,500 bonus AIR MILES

The no annual fee version sees its bonus boosted to 2,500 Miles from the typical 800 to 1,000 miles.

Just like the premium card, the entire bonus for this card will take 12 months to achieve. Here’s how the 2,500 AIR MILES are earned:

  • 1,500 AIR MILES when you spend $1,000 within the first 3 months
  • 500 AIR MILES when you spend $5,000 within the first 6 months
  • 500 AIR MILES when you’ve spent $10,000 cumulative in your first 12 months

In the end those 2,500 are worth just over $263 in Cash Miles.

BMO AIR MILES World Elite Business Mastercard
Up to 15,000 bonus AIR MILES

The premium business AIR MILES card offering from BMO also sees a huge jump in its bonus offer to 15,000 miles. On top of this the card still features a first year annual fee waiver so you don’t have to pay the $120 annual fee in the first year.

Just like the other offers, this bonus will take 12 months and the highest amount of spend out of the four cards. Here’s how the 15,000 AIR MILES are earned:

  • 5,000 AIR MILES when you spend $5,000 within the first 3 months
  • 5,000 AIR MILES when you spend $10,000 within the first 6 months
  • 5,000 AIR MILES when you’ve spent $45,000 cumulative in your first 12 months

$45,000 is a lot to spend but then again if your business funnels most expense spending via credit cards this may not be a hard number to acheive.

If you do earn the entire bonus, 15,000 AIR MILES works out to over $1,578 in value via the Cash Miles option. The true value will end up being $1,429 as you will have to subtract the 2nd year annual fee from that total unless you manage to get it waived again or have a BMO bank account that covers the annual fee.

BMO AIR MILES No-fee Business Mastercard
Up to 5,000 bonus AIR MILES

The no annual fee version sees its bonus boosted to 5,000 Miles from the typical 1,000 miles.

Just like the premium card, the entire bonus for this card will take 12 months to achieve. Here’s how the 5,000 AIR MILES are earned:

  • 3,000 AIR MILES when you spend $3,000 within the first 3 months
  • 1,000 AIR MILES when you spend $6,000 within the first 6 months
  • 1,000 AIR MILES when you’ve spent $15,000 cumulative in your first 12 months

In the end those 10,000 are worth just over $1,052 in Cash Miles.

Wrapping it up

In the entire history of the AIR MILES program we’ve never seen bonuses this high for their co-brand cards. The bonuses are huge but so is the required spending so you’ll want to be 100% sure that you can meet those requirements before you apply for any of these cards. In the end it has been great to see AIR MILES really up their game over the past few weeks and that they’ve turned a corner from being on the brink of extinction only six short months ago.
