The news of Air Canada Aeroplan scoring actual Singapore Airlines business class flight awards is spreading like wildfire! Yes, we are speaking of the same coveted Singapore Airlines Business Class that is typically reserved only for members of Singapore’s KrisFlyer program. There is Aeroplan availability showing out of Vancouver, Los Angeles, New York and more for flights to Asia and Europe. Due to the extreme popularity of this news it does appear that availability is going fast.
For most flights out of Singapore Airline’s North American gateways to Singapore (and beyond) you are looking at 87,500 Aeroplan points each direction. And since Air Canada does not charge carrier surcharges on their awards the fees are extremely reasonable – such as C$92 on Vancouver to Singapore.
Only 87,500 points + $92 to Singapore!
Vancouver to Singapore availability in business class was very sporadic. We conducted searches over quite a few dates with very little luck. With only several flights per week and this news coming out that Aeroplan has actual availability for those flights its no wonder that availability is becoming tough to find!
Here is some availability in late April for the YVR-SIN route:
Singapore Airlines flies other North American routes that do have better availability, namely New York and Los Angeles but those look like they are being gobbled up quickly as well. You can also find availability on Singapore Airlines fifth freedom routes like New York to Frankfurt, Houston to Manchester and Los Angeles to Tokyo.
Wrapping it up
The team behind the revamped Air Canada Aeroplan have done it again and pulled some strings to get business class award access on Singapore Airlines. These awards are normally reserved for Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer members but not anymore! My advice to you though is to book these sooner than later as they availability is going quick due to all the coverage this news is receiving.
