Back in December TD came out with new and extended welcome offers on their credit cards including one of the best ever for their TD Cash Back Visa Infinite* Card. That offer when launched offered up to $210 in cash back for any one who applied for the card by May 29, 2022. And even though that bonus offer was better than most in the market by $10 the prevalence of those competitors offering a published 10% on $2,000 has overshadowed this bonus. When you have 10% on $2,000 (or $2,500 on one card) versus 6% on $2,000 plus 6% on the next $1,500 some consumers don’t see that second part so they are only comparing 10% and 6% on $2,000 spend and thus those 10% offers are winning out. So what does TD do? Well as of today they are now also offering 10% back on the first $2,000 of spending BUT they are also keeping the 6% on the next $1,500 in select categories. If you can max that out in the first three months as required then you will earn $290 in cash back. That’s $40 to $90 more than most of the competition.
The Welcome Bonus
The
first part of the TD Cash Back Visa Infinite* Card welcome bonus now matches what many of its competitors are offering and that’s a 10% cash back
earn rate on all purchases up to $2,000 in the first three months. However TD also has kept the extra 6% on the next $1,500 in spending in that
same time frame on gas, grocery and pre-authorized payment purchases.
All told you can earn up to $290 cash back on that first $3,500 in
spending in the first three months. To make the offer even better TD
will rebate the annual fee for the primary card and additional cards in
the first year. This true $290 places the TD Cash Back Visa Infinite*
Card back into third spot in the top 5 cash back cards in terms of
initial value.
This offer is available for applications made from today through to September 5, 2022

Wrapping it up
With
the release of this new limited time welcome offer the TD Cash Back
Visa Infinite* Card has moved into third spot overall in Canada in
terms of welcome bonus value for cash back cards. It has done this by matching its competitor’s 10% on the first $2,000 in spending but then keeping the 6% on the next $1,500 in those select spend categories. Beyond the welcome bonus you will need to
do the math on your spending over time to see if this
TD card can work better for you with its 3% accelerated earn rate
categories versus the 4 or 5% seen with some other cards.
