Alaska Airlines takeover of Virgin America was finalized today. This doesn’t mean too much for us up North here other than you’ll now be able to earn Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles if you do fly on Virgin America within the U.S. on or after December 19. (Source Alaska)
Starting Monday, December 19, Mileage Plan
members will be able to earn miles on Virgin America flights, and
Virgin America Elevate members will be able to earn points on Alaska
Airlines flights. Both airlines’ elite members will receive priority
check-in and priority boarding on each other’s flights.
