For the time being AAdvantage® members will be able to earn AAdvantage® miles for travel on Porter Airlines flights marketed under the American Airlines code. There is no reciprocal earning at this point for the VIPorter program on AA flights with a Porter Airlines code.
Wrapping it up
Porter Airlines has made a logical move by creating a codeshare partnership with American Airlines as they already have existing partnerships with other oneworld Alliance airlines. The biggest being Alaska Airlines of course and now we have this codeshare partnership with AA along with interline agreements with British Airways, Japan Airlines, Qatar Airways and others. With WestJet having major ties to primarily SkyTeam Airlines and Air Canada, well AC is a founding member of Star Alliance so that needs no description, it does really make sense that Porter Airlines is aligning themselves with airlines in the oneworld alliance.
