Canadian Tire’s Triangle Rewards and Tim Hortons announce loyalty partnership

How does earning CT Money on your Tims coffee and donuts sound? Well, that’s what you’ll be able to do starting in 2026 with this latest linked loyalty partnership between Canadian Tire and Tim Hortons. The two massive retailers announced a partnership that will see Triangle Rewards members earn CT Money on Tims purchases and exclusive offers being provided to members of Triangle and Tims Rewards.

Triangle Rewards Linked Loyalty Expansion

This marks the fourth linked loyalty partnership for Triangle Rewards and makes good on Canadian Tire’s announcement from late 2024 stating they were  “actively engaged in conversations with several of Canada’s largest brands about loyalty partnerships that are expected to broaden the value of Triangle Rewards”

To date only one of the linked loyalty partnerships, is operational and that’s the one with Petro-Canada’s Petro-Points (Learn more here). The other two that have been announced – one with  RBC Avion Rewards (Learn more here) and one with WestJet Rewards (Learn more here), are also set to launch in 2026 just like this new partnership with Timmies.

How the partnership will work

Just like the other tie ups that Triangle Rewards has already announced with WestJet and RBC’s Avion Rewards – there are no concrete details on earn rates and promotions.  At this time all we know is that when you link your Triangle Rewards account to your Tims Rewards account you’ll earn extra Canadian Tire Money on eligible Tim Hortons purchases. In addition to earning CT Money the partnership will include exclusive offers through Triangle Rewards and Tims Rewards. Triangle Mastercard holders who link accounts are being promised even richer opportunities to earn CTM when shopping at Tim Hortons locations.

Based on the few details in the press release it does not appear there will be reciprocal earning of Tims Rewards points at Triangle partner locations. It does look like Tims Rewards members may receive exclusive offers for Triangle Rewards stores – most likely large discount offers like we have seen for Petro-Points members.

Wrapping it up

Linked loyalty has been the “go to” trend in the loyalty industry for the past few years and one of the biggest adopters has been Canadian Tire Corporation. Tie ups with Petro-Canada, RBC (Another big adopter of linked loyalty), WestJet and now Tims sees the earning opportunities for Triangle Rewards members expand greatly beyond their 11 brands all the while creating a larger captive market via their linked partners since the CT Money earned at Petro-Canada and in the future with WestJet and Tims can only be redeemed at their 11 locations. Overall, an extremely well thought out plan from the team at Triangle Rewards to try to get more traffic and more sales for their stores
