Royal Jordanian Airlines has had a paid status match opportunity in market since late 2023 which we only covered on FFB as it was not available to Canadians. That has all changed as of September 2025 as the match now includes residents of Canada and the addition of Air Canada Aeroplan and WestJet to the airlines that you can match from! You can also match from over a dozen other airlines programs and even hotel programs (Hotels can only match to the first elite tier)
This is a excellent opportunity to get oneworld status that you can then use for travel on the oneworld airlines that do fly to Canada such as Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific and others! Of course, I would be amiss if I didn’t mention that Royal Jordanian flies to both Montreal and Toronto so the benefits can be used directly with RJ out of Canada!
Royal Jordanian Status Match Details
This Royal Jordanian paid status match opportunity allows elite members of 18 non-oneworld airline programs and 11 Hotel Programs to receive Royal Jordanian Silver Jay or Gold Sparrow Elite Status for twelve months.
So if you are someone who has Air Canada 25K/35K, WestJet Rewards Silver or even Marriott Bonvoy and Hilton Honors Gold Elite status from The Platinum Card from American Express, or even Marriott Silver from the Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card or the Scotiabank Gold American Express Card, you can use that to purchase your way to the first level of oneworld elite status (oneworld Ruby) by getting Silver Jay status. Same goes if you have the status with any of the hotel programs from actually staying with those chains.
Or you can go for Royal Jordanian Gold Sparrow (oneworld Sapphire) Status if you hold Air Canada Aeroplan 50K or higher status or are a WestJet Rewards Gold or Platinum tier status member.
This status match does not have any flight requirements or any spend requirements outside of the application fee and gives you full elite status for a complete 12 months from date your match is approved.
