Paying for your Qatar Airways flights
Qatar Airways Privilege Club does not have a co-brand credit card in Canada but as they are part of the Avios ecosystem it is best to use a card that has The British Airways Club as an earn option, in which case American Express Membership Rewards is the best!
The best options are these two cards which also happen to have their best welcome bonuses of the year available until August 18, 2025!
- The Platinum Card from American Express – Earns 2 points per dollar spent on travel which equals 2 Avios per dollar! The current welcome bonus is up to 180,000 points!!
- The American Express Gold Rewards Card – Earns 2 points per dollar spent on travel which equals 2 Avios per dollar! The current welcome bonus is up to 110,000 points!!
You can then transfer the Avios from BA to Qatar Airways (Although be warned – there are a lot of technical issues right now with transfers from BA to QR – but not vice versa where people are having their accounts locked for up to 10 or more days for trying to transfer!)
