RWRDS Daily Update June 18: Get 15,000 Avion points when financing an EV purchase & good and bad changes to DQ Rewards

Here’s your RWRDS Canada update! Your near daily dose of loyalty program, credit card and travel news, bonuses, deals and more.

Get 15,000 Avion points when financing an EV purchase via RBC

RBC is moving every which way with their Avion Rewards program as now they are offering bonus points for a car loan! More specifically if you finance the purchase of an Electric Vehicle (EV) from a participating dealership with RBC by September 5th you can earn 15,000 Avion points.

Here are the steps to earning the points:

Ask for an auto loan with RBC at a participating dealership
Finance your eligible EV with RBC by September 5th, 2025
Enroll in RBC Online Banking and use the account information in your Welcome Letter to join the Avion Rewards program by October 31st, 2025. Or, if you are an existing RBC client simply sign in with your RBC Online Banking username and password.

DQ Rewards adds more reward options and devalues & improves several existing rewards

DQ Rewards went through revamp this week whereby the have added more menu items that you can redeem for and have adjusted the amount of points required for some of their existing reward options.

Some of the new items you can redeem for are Cupfections, Buster Bars and Dilly bars. They have also removed most of the Blizzard Cake redemption options and replaced them with 50% off Blizzard Cake options. You can still redeem points for a full 8″ Blizzard Cake however that has been devalued.

Here are some examples of the items that have been devalued in these DQ Rewards changes:

Dipped Cone: From 200 points to 250 points (25% increase)
Mini Blizzard: From 300 points to 400 points (33% increase)
Small Shake or Freeze: From 250 points to 350 points (40% increase)
8″ Blizzard Cake: From 2,500 points to 4,000 points (60% increase)

To the best of my knowledge, there is one menu item that actually received a decreased points requirement!

Double Cheeseburger: From 750 points to 600 points (20% decrease)
