Another week another tie up in the ever competitive and evolving Canadian loyalty market! Loblaw’s PC Optimum and DoorDash have announced a partnership that will allow Canadians to earn PC points on eligible DoorDash delivery orders.
With all the other major Canadian loyalty programs announcing various new partnerships and linked loyalty offers over the past few years, PC Optimum has followed suit with a pretty significant partnership with DoorDash and here’s what it entails:
The everyday PC Optimum Points earn rate with DoorDash
Once you have your PC Optimum account linked to your DoorDash account (see below) you will earn 5 points per dollar spent on eligible delivery orders from restaurants and Loblaw-banner stores via DoorDash – including Real Canadian Superstore, No Frills, Shoppers Drug Mart, Maxi, Real Atlantic Superstore, and PC Express Rapid Delivery.
As would be expected, grocery orders from competing grocers will not earn points via DoorDash and based on the wording only eligible delivery orders will earn points so if you are someone who does pick up orders via DoorDash you will not earn points either (You can still earn cash back though – see below!)
Limited Time Introductory Bonus Offers
To celebrate the launch of the partnership there are three introductory bonus offers to which each member will be entitled to earning 2 of them depending on whether they have an existing DoorDash account or not:
- Limited Time New Customer Bonus (Ends July 16): Link your PC Optimum account to your DoorDash account, then earn up to 25,000 points after three $20+ orders (15,000 on the first, 5,000 on the next two).
- Limited Time Existing Customer Bonus (Ends July 16): Link your PC Optimum account to your DoorDash account and get 5,000 points after your first $20+ order.
- Double Points on all orders (First three months): PC Optimum™ members will receive ten points for every dollar spent on eligible orders for the first three months
Link your accounts to earn!
I tried to link my PC Optimum account to DoorDash numerous times via the above shown option in the DoorDash app and each time I ended up with a blank white screen. I tried it from PC Optimum app as well and it just sends to you the DoorDash app to link and no luck – just a white screen again. Hopefully they fix this sooner than later as you really don’t want lingering technical issues to hamper a partnership launch.

Best Credit Card for DoorDash orders
The best credit card for paying for your DoorDash orders is by far and away the American Express Cobalt Card. This card earns 5 points per dollar on all DoorDash purchases. That works out to a 5% return for cash back or any travel purchase redemption, up to a 10% return when redeeming via Amex’s Fixed Points for Travel and the sky is the limit for your return when converting those points to Aeroplan, Air France KLM, British Airways, Marriott and more. No other card will give you returns like that on DoorDash orders.

Earn even more on DoorDash orders with cash back offers from Avion Select & Paymi
You can earn even more on DoorDash orders by making sure you use the card linked offers from Avion Select or the Paymi cash back app. Once again the best option here is to link the American Express Cobalt Card.
Once you have those card linked programs set you’ll earn PC Optimum points, credit card points and the cash back from these apps on your eligible DoorDash orders.
These are the current cash back offers (current as of June 16)
- Avion Select: Earn 5% cash back (“Offer”) earned on purchases made online in Canada directly from DoorDash with an eligible debit or credit card that has enrolled in “card linking” through Avion Rewards. Limit 2 Offers per Avion Rewards member. Maximum earn is $5 per transaction. Valid until Jul 31, 25
- Paymi: Earn 3% cash back on eligible DoorDash orders of $100 or more.
Wrapping it up
PC Optimum members can now earn extra points when ordering from their favourite restaurants and Loblaw’s stores via DoorDash. The move has PC Optimum following in the footsteps of other Canadian loyalty programs who have been expanding their partnerships left, right and center and it’s good to see PCO has chosen not sit on it’s laurels.
