American Express launched a new targetted promotion that awards up to 1,000 bonus points for additional (supplementary) card spending. Cardmembers who are selected for this offer will receive the bonus on spending made on an additional card on their account until December 4, 2024. Be sure to check your email for notification of the offer.
The up to 1,000 bonus points offer
The offer provides 1 bonus Membership Rewards point for each eligible dollar spent by additional cardmembers up to $1,000 in total spending. The offer is available on accounts that have one additional card that was added to the account on or before August 11, 2024.
To be eligible the purchases must be made by December 4 and post to the account by December 11, 2024. Bonus points will be issued by February 5, 2025

Wrapping it up
This is an intriguing offer from American Express that is set for an additional card of mine that isn’t really used for purchases but for the benefits. Had it been on the Cobalt Card or Marriott Bonvoy card it would be a different story but the additional cards on those accounts get used all the time, so no real incentive to bonus them. As my wife doesn’t really use her Platinum card for any purchases I can see why this offer has been sent. But seeing she just uses it for the lounge access mainly this offer will not be maxed out on our part.
