December 10 Update: Aeroplan extends generous refund policy to February 28, Choice Card from Amex added to site & an update to the Top 5 Cash Back offers

Here’s your Rewards Canada Daily update! Your daily dose (or near
daily dose) of loyalty program, credit card and travel news, bonuses,

The generous Aeroplan refund policy that allows you
to change or cancel existing or new reward flights booking with a full refund of miles and the
fees/taxes paid going back to your credit card is being extended to Feb 28, 21. This was revealed to us
by Air Canada while recording the latest episode of our podcast that

The Choice Card from American Express that we discussed on the blog yesterday has now been added to our American
Express page. I have seen some talk about why even offer a card like
this and I can tell it is meant to be an entry level card for those
wanting to establish a history with American Express. The current
situation with the pandemic has seen more people apply for cards but be
denied as most banks have tightened up their lending practices and
anecdotally I think we’ve seen that be the case from Amex as well. By bringing back the
Choice Card Amex is providing an option that I think they are willing to
take a gamble on to provide it to those who aren’t being approved for
their more premium cards. On top of that it provides an avenue for
anyone who is currently with Amex but perhaps looking at downgrading to a
card with no annual fee. You’ll find this new card and all the other Amex cards here.
