July 21 will be the last day to earn and redeem AIR MILES at Metro
Metro Inc. has now published July 21st as the final day to earn and redeem AIR MILES at their stores in Ontario. These stores will switch over to Metro’s in house Moi Rewards program later this year. An actual date for the launch of Moi in Ontario has not been released but I would assume is shouldn’t be too long after July 21st. Speaking of Moi Rewards, the program celebrates it first anniversary after its relaunch on this day last year. Here are some highlights provided by Metro of this first year:
- 2.5 million active members
- More than 1.3 million new active members in its first year
- Since its launch, members have saved over $65 million in redeemed points
- Nearly three-quarters of members visit 2 or more banners, taking advantage of the program to accumulate savings faster
- Members who use digital platforms (mobile applications or participating banners’ website) to consult personalized offers earn up to twice as many points

WestJet adding flights to Grenada and Tulum
WestJet is adding several new destinations and new non-stop routes for the upcoming winter season. The airline is adding flight to the new Tulum airport in Mexico from Calgary and Toronto as well as a Toronto to Grenada flight. These are all additions from WestJet’s latest schedule update:
Calgary – Tulum eff 09NOV24 1 weekly 737-800
Kelowna – Mazatlán* eff 13DEC24 1 weekly 737-800 (Operational schedule is identical to Sunwing)
Toronto – Grenada* eff 03NOV24 1 weekly (Reservations to open in the next few weeks)
Toronto – Tulum eff 09NOV24 3 weekly 737-800
Vancouver – Fort Lauderdale eff 03NOV24 1 weekly 737 MAX 8/-700
Winnipeg – Fort Lauderdale eff 18NOV24 1 weekly 737-800 (Previously served by Swoop in NW19)
Winnipeg – Los Cabos/Cabo San Lucas eff 09NOV24 1 weekly 737-700/-800 (Previously served by Sunwing in NW22)
The airline will also make the following routes year round service:
Edmonton – Atlanta 1 daily
Edmonton – Montreal 4 weekly
Edmonton – Ottawa 5 weekly
Regina – Minneapolis/St. Paul 1 daily
Winnipeg – Montreal 5 weekly
