Regional and city tourism boards here in Canada are once again looking to stimulate travel and have people stay in their areas with gift card offers! During the pandemic these type of offers proliferated across Canada but with most of 2023 having been the year of revenge travel the majority of these offers disappeared. Now that winter is upon us and travel is slowing down to reasonable levels we are seeing some of these offers emerge once again.
If you are still planning some Canadian vacations this winter, here are some offers to check out from these tourism and destination marketing boards:
Edmonton, Alberta
Back for the fall and winter, the Edmonton’s Best Hotels promotion offers up to $225 in gift cards when staying at any one of over 40 hotels. A one night stay will earn a $50 gift card, two nights will earn $150 in gift cards and three or more nights will earn $225 in cards. Kingston, Ontario
Tourism Kingston is offering a $100 Visa prepaid card when you book and stay at participating hotels in Kingston. The offer is valid for a minimum one-night (1) qualifying stay Sunday through Thursday and/or a two or more (2+) qualifying stay starting Friday or Saturday. Oakville, Ontario
When you book one or more nights at a participating Oakville hotel, you will receive a free Mastercard gift card at check-in. A one night stay at a participating hotel in Oakville will earn a $50 prepaid MasterCard. A two consecutive night stay will $100 in cards. Richmond, British Columbia
Tourism Richmond is offering up to $225 in American Express prepaid cards when you stay at select hotels in the Richmond area. Depending on which hotel you book you’ll receive a $75, $100 or $125 Amex card for the first night and then an additional $50 per night for each additional night up to 3 nights in total. StayVancouver Hotels is offering up to $250 in Mastercard pre-paid gift cards with a minimum 2-night stay. The offer is available at 40+ hotels in the downtown Vancouver area.
