Air Canada enhances several elite status benefits

Air Canada sent us a note to pass along to our readers about enhancements being made to several elite status benefits. These enhancements are effective immediately and elite status members will receive notification of these changes later today.

Elite Status benefit enhancements

The benefit enhancements are as follows:

Doubling eUpgrade Companion Benefits
eUpgrade credits may now be used to upgrade two travel companions. Previously, members could only request upgrades for one companion on their reservation. But as of August 1, we’ve doubled that, allowing them to request upgrades for two companions. The same applies to the day of travel, where they can now make a request with an Air Canada airport agent to use their credits for up to two additional companions, instead of just one.

Making Status Passes More Flexible
For 50K, 75K and Super Elite, Status Passes may now be used for travel on a confirmed booking any date in the future. It used to be that Status Passes could only be used if travel was on or before their expiration date, which is typically December 31. Now their Status Passes can be used for any travel date as long as it’s applied before the expiration date.

This second enhancement couldn’t come at a better time as we have our contest running right now where you can win one of these Status Passes! Click here to learn more and to enter the contest

Wrapping it up

More welcome news from Air Canada today as these are truly valuable enhancements to their program! The expansion of eUpgrade Companion Benefits from one to two companions and being able to use Status Passes on travel beyond the expiry date can only be seen as a positive for Air Canada elite status members.
