Aeroplan is out with another buy or gift points promotion where you can buy Aeroplan points with up to a 75% bonus. This offer runs until July 12, 2023 and allows members to buy up to 500,000 points per transaction up to the annual limit of 1 million points. On top of this if you buy points during this promotion you’ll automatically receive an extra 15% bonus on Air Canada’s next two buy points promotions coming later this year.
When you buy points at the 75% level your cost on each point is 2 cents (C$) each before taxes. Since we value Aeroplan points at a minimum of 1.5 cents each you would think it wouldn’t make sense to buy them 2 cents each but there are times where you can extract a lot more value. For example, if you look at our two Aeroplan Availability Alerts from this past week those have business class award flights with 3.25 and 3.5 cents per point in value.
