As a follow up to our Miles & More Mileage Bargains post on June 2, I mentioned I would provide further details on the ASMALLWORLD program. ASMALLWORLD bills itself as a social network for travel that provides amazing luxury perks and benefits. The welcome bonus miles
The welcome bonus for purchasing a Prestige Membership with ASMALLWORLD has been increased by 50,000 miles to 300,000 Miles & More miles until August 15 and the price of the membership has been discounted. Typically the welcome bonus for ASMALLWORLD Prestige Membership is 250,000 miles with a cost of 5,490 EUR
The cost to purchase ASMALLWORLD Prestige Membership with this promotion is 5,200 EUR or about C$7,500 and with it you don’t just receive the miles. You’ll receive elite status with several hotel loyalty programs and the top level DragonPass airport lounge membership which provides unlimited airport lounge access.

Value in the miles alone
If we look at the 300,000 miles alone and don’t take into account the other benefits, you are buying the miles at 1.73 EUR cents each or about 2.5 cents each in Canadian dollars. This is an OK price to be buying them at. Seeing that you can get 300,000 miles in one shot and begin redeeming right away this can be a very lucrative deal for business or first class flights.
For example, if we take the monthly Mileage Bargain offers provided by Miles & More, there are typically multiple routes you can fly between North America and Europe for only 55,000 miles round trip in business class. That means you could potentially buy five round trip business class tickets (and have 25,000 Miles left over) Paying cash for those same five business class trips would more than likely cost at least two to three times that if not more.
Another potential benefit of buying the miles via this membership is that you open up much earlier access to Lufthansa First Class awards. When you use other airline programs like Aeroplan or LifeMiles those programs typically only have access to LH First about two weeks prior to the actual flight departure. When you choose to redeem Miles & More miles you can book LH First to as far out as the schedule allows, which is almost one year. FYI round trip First Class flights between North America and Europe run 182,000 miles so you would still have enough miles left over for one to two business class redemptions as well.
And that covers the mileage bonus but it doesn’t end there when you purchase an ASMALLWORLD Prestige membership. You also receive the following benefits:
DragonPass Prestige Membership
A US$459 value, DragonPass Prestige is the top membership level from this lounge access program and with it you get unlimited access to over 1,300 airport lounge worldwide. It also provides dining discounts of up to 25% at select airport restaurants worldwide. DragonPass has become the de-facto lounge access program for Canadian credit card issuers but many of them only include 4 to 6 passes per year or none at all so if you are a frequent enough traveller who uses up those passes or doesn’t have a card providing access having this DragonPass Prestige membership can be a huge benefit.
GHA Discovery Titanium Status
This is the top elite status level for GHA (Global Hotel Alliance) Discovery which is the hotel frequent guest program for 800+ luxury hotels from 40+ brands worldwide. GHA Discovery Titanium status provides the following:
- Double room upgrades (based on availability)
- Early check-in (based on availability)
- Late check-out (based on availability)
- Welcome amenity
- Status sharing
- and more
GHA Discovery Titanium status typically requires 30 nights or $15,000 spending with three brands to achieve.
Here in Canada there are currently four hotels part of GHA Discovery and those are the Pan Pacific Hotels in Toronto, Vancouver and Whistler (2).
Jumeirah One Gold Status
This is the second highest elite level for Jumeirah Hotels and it provides the following:

Jumeirah One Gold status typically requires 30,000 tier points ($15,000 in spending) to achieve.
Sixt Platinum Status
You will also receive Sixt Platinum status which normally requires 10 rentals with the company. Platinum status provides:
- Exclusive counter and parking
- Free upgrade upon availability
- Up to 15% discount
Luxury Hotel Benefits
ASMALLWORLD also provides hotel perks when you book with them. They are a Virtuoso, Hyatt Prive and Impresario agent which means you can receive room upgrades, daily breakfast, hotel credits and much more when you book with them.
The World’s Finest Clubs
ASMALLWORLD membership gives you free access to “The World Finest Clubs”. This is a membership based program to give you VIP access (basically skip the line) to access night clubs, beach clubs and other entertainment venues around the world.

Wrapping it up
Purchasing a prestige membership with ASMALLWORLD is a pretty big outlay at C$7,500 and I would only recommend it if you can afford it – but it is an outlay that can be well worth it. The savings and value it can provide can be worth many times that price especially when redeeming the miles for a Miles & More Mileage Bargain or for Lufthansa First Class. And all the additional benefits, those are the icing on the cake.
