A buy points bonus for
Marriott Bonvoy has returned and this time it is a mystery bonus that will be revealed after you log in. It appears the bonus can be as high as 55%, personally I only received 45% bonus while my wife received The bonus is awarded on purchases from
2,000 to 100,000 points and that 100,000 is a doubling of the typical
50,000 point annual limit for buying points.
If you are lucky enough to get the 55% bonus you end up buying points for 0.80 US cents each or about 1.01 cents C$ –
just a tad higher than the 1 C$ cent we typically value Bonvoy points at but you
have to remember that 1 cent is our minimum. There are many examples of
where you can redeem points and get a per point value well above 1 cent,
2 cents or even 3 cents a piece. Ultimately do the math to see if it
makes sense for you to buy points – don’t just buy them because there is
bonus
