August 17 Update: Amex Offers galore, new increased TD Aeroplan & First Class Visa offers and Hyatt acquires ~100 resort properties

  Here’s your Rewards Canada Daily update! Your daily dose (or near
daily dose) of loyalty program, credit card and travel news, bonuses,
deals and more.

Earlier today we posted about the Shangri-La Hotels Amex Offer and in
that post we said there were a lot of new offers released this week.
Here are the others that came out over the past few days:

  • Spend at least $200 in qualifying purchases using your Registered Card at participating ECCO Shoes location(s) or at ca.ecco.com by 15/11/2021 and earn a one-time $40 statement credit. Registration cap applies. Terms apply.
  • Spend at least $100 in qualifying purchases using your registered Card at participating Ever New Melbourne location(s) or at www.evernew.ca by 11/12/2021 and earn a one-time $25 statement credit. Terms apply
  • Spend at least $500 in qualifying purchases using your Registered Card at participating Salvatore Ferragamo location(s) or at www.ferragamo.com/shop/ca/en by 31/12/2021 and earn a one-time $100 statement credit. Registration cap applies. Terms apply.
  • Get a statement credit equal to 20% of total qualifying purchases when you use your Registered Card at www.washingtonpost.com/AMEXCanada by 31/12/2021. Limit of $8 in total credits. Terms apply.
  • Register your eligible Card and earn a $10 statement credit when you
    sign up for a fuboTV monthly subscription purchase of at least $15

Over the weekend news came out that Hyatt will acquire Apple Leisure Group which
means the chain will be adding around 100 properties (almost all
All-Inclusive). Apple Leisure owns AMResorts who run brands like
Secrets, Dreams, Zoetry and more which surprisingly just joined Choice
Hotels about a year ago so most likely these properties will be leaving
the Choice Privileges programs as soon they are on-boarded to World of

What this means for our World of Hyatt members once the transaction closes (expected fourth quarter of 2021):

  • Hyatt will extend its brand footprint in 11 new European markets – such as Spain, Canary Islands, Balearic Islands and Greece.
  • Hyatt will offer the largest collection of all-inclusive luxury resorts in
    the world and expects ALG’s AMR Collection of resorts to join Hyatt,
    providing World of Hyatt members with nearly 100 new luxury resorts to
    choose from across Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America. 
  • This new addition will include renowned all-inclusive and resorts brands for
    guests and World of Hyatt members to explore, such as Secrets Resorts
    & Spa, Dreams Resorts & Spas, Breathless Resorts & Spas,
    Zoëtry Wellness & Spa Resorts and Alua Hotels & Resorts
