You can buy Star Alliance Gold status and Maple Leaf lounge access for ~C$1115 and score 132,000 miles in the process

 

TAP Air Portugal is once again offering a special for joining Club Miles&Go. Club Miles&Go is their subscription service that provides monthly bonus miles, flight benefits and more. Right now for Black Friday when you buy the top level Platinum membership TAP will give you triple the welcome or renewal miles and give you automatic Gold Status for 6 months!

UPDATE: The chart on TAP is a little confusing (well at least to me it seemed like it) but the total miles you can get with this offer is actually 132,000 not 168,000 as first posted.

 

 

If you haven’t bought membership before this means you’ll get that Gold Status for 6 months and 168,000 miles 132,000 for 718EUR which works out to about ~C$1115. That’s a pretty good deal seeing that TAP Gold Status provides Star Alliance Gold Status which provides lounge access across the alliance including Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges:

Star Alliance Gold also gives you Priority Check In, Priority Baggage and Priority Boarding on Air Canada and all other Star Alliance airlines. I mean you can buy worldwide Maple Leaf Lounge access for $665 + GST/HST but you don't get the additional benefits listed here and the 168K 132K in miles. Reward flights with TAP start at 29,000 miles one way from North America to Europe in economy class or 100K in Business Class so there is the potential for a lot of value in those miles on top of the Gold Status.
