Sonesta Hotels can easily be considered the hotel
chain with biggest growth over the past year. First they scored over 100
hotels from IHG including two in Canada and then another 100 plus
hotels from Marriott and now in the latest news from them they are
buying RLH Corporation which is better known as Red Lion Hotels. This
purchase will expand Sonesta’s footprint in Canada from 2 hotels (the two IHG properties on the Toronto area they took over)
to well over 20 as Red Lion has a few hotels in Canada mainly
operating under the economy brands Canada’s Best Value Inns and Knights
Inn. Overall the acquisition puts Sonesta Hotels at over 1,200
locations worldwide with the majority of them in the U.S. (Source Yahoo)
