Sneak Peek at what will be offered on the new Air Canada Aeroplan credit cards as of Sunday

Technically speaking as a partner of all of Aeroplan’s financial partners we have not been able to disclose what sort of welcome bonuses will be offered come Sunday when the new program launches. However thanks (or perhaps no thanks) to a person who we’d guess to be a branch employee with TD leaked some of the details of the TD cards onto Reddit. So Aeroplan gave us the go ahead to give you this sneak peek at what will be coming:

  • On eligible* cards, members earn a Buddy Pass** for a buy-one-get-one ticket anywhere Air Canada flies in North America – including Mexico and Hawaii. After first buying an economy class ticket, on the second they pay only the government taxes and third-party charges. The Buddy Pass can be used very flexibly: it can be applied to a ticket purchased in any Economy fare class; it can be used any time within a year of when it’s issued, with no blackouts; there are no inventory restrictions—last seat availability.
    * All Core cards are eligible, and Premium cards at CIBC and TD. Entry-level cards are not eligible.
** The Air Canada Buddy Pass and the welcome bonuses require a minimum spend requirement to be earned.

All this being said I did notice that not all the details were provided on the Reddit sub-forum where this info was leaked so there will still be some new info coming on Sunday.
