Earlier in the week we posted the great new offer for the BMO AIR MILES World Elite Mastercard. On
that post Rewards Canada reader Jim asked whether you can combine the
25% discount on North America award tickets with the new companion
ticket offer that comes with the credit card. We reached out to AIR
MILES and got the following response:
To confirm, a new BMO AIR MILES World Elite MasterCard Cardholder can
use his North American flight discount in combination to this
promotion. The discount is applied when they book both their flights.
So the answer is yes you can take advantage of the discount on the
companion ticket offer! This makes the offer even more compelling as you
are getting two flights in North America for only 75% of the cost of
one ticket! Thanks to Jim for posing the question!
Big news for many people outside of Canada but should only affect a few here is that airberlin the German carrier filed for insolvency last week and now their frequent flyer program, topbonus
has also filed for insolvency. We have provided quite a bit of coverage
of this program over the years but that now appears to be coming to an
end. Anyone who holds miles in this program (I had about 1,500 from
various free miles offers) will more than likely lose them with this
