A couple of new travel rewards credit cards are out now in the Canadian market:
Thanks to long time Rewards Canada reader Jean-Pierre H. for letting me know about the BMO® IGA AIR MILES®† MasterCard® for residents in Quebec. The primary features of the card are:
- 2 AIR MILES reward miles for every $20 spent at IGA
- 1.25 AIR MILES reward miles for every $20 spent at Shell service stations
- 1 AIR MILES reward mile for every $20 spent everywhere else
- Plus, get a Welcome Bonus of 140 AIR MILES reward miles with your first card purchase2.
- Enjoy all of this for NO ANNUAL FEE5.
- Automatic AIR MILES GOLD cardholder status for the first year you have the card6.

The other card is an enhancement to an existing card and that is the new CUETS CHOICE REWARDS® World Elite® MasterCard®. From what I can tell it slightly enhances the offering of the already great CUETS Platinum Class MasterCard. The enhancements are that you redeem via the Choice Rewards program rather than the Platinum Class program (from what I can tell the value of your points is exactly the same) plus the addition of Price Protection and Concierge Services seen with most World Elite MasterCards. Finally it appears the limit of 400,000 points per year seen on the Platinum Class card are gone with this card
